Momtaz has over 15 years of experience as a Professional, Published Writer and Editor specialising in lifestyle, arts, and culture. She has written for newspapers (regional & national), magazines (consumer & trade), websites and broadcast (TV & Radio.)
In 2019 was awarded 'Fashion Journalist of The Year' at the British Bangladesh Fashion & Lifestyle Awards.
She has published three books, a travelogue, currently edits colour website Hello Hue and is host of the Hello Colour Podcast.
Momtaz's professional roles have included Editorial Director (Asiana Wedding Magazine), Launch Editor (Ethnic Restaurant Magazine), Editor (Popular Crafts Magazine), Deputy Content Editor (Barclays), and Features Writer (BBC Magazines). As a Freelance Writer she has written for publications and online including The Guardian, The Independent, The i Paper, Net Doctor, Mollie Makes, Project Calm, Dog's Monthly, Enfield Advertiser, Barnet Press, Brighton Pages, Shropshire Life, VirginStudent.com, Eastern Eye, Asian Woman, Asian Culture Vulture, Asiana.tv, Londonist, gal-dem, Huff Post and the New Statesman.
As a Copywriter Momtaz has produced website content for clients in the medical, finance, fashion, beauty, and design industries, written reports, leaflets and brochures, and created copy for adverts. Experienced in managing teams and budgets she has worked on major projects such as new launches and rebranding.
*Momtaz was commissioned by the Creative & Cultural Skills council to write a blog charting her creative life which ran from 2006-2009.
*She then wrote a personal lifestyle blog, "Cos I Like Making Stuff" from 2009-2019.
*This changed to the travel and creative blog "Craft and Travel) from 2019-2021.
Momtaz is also a respected media commentator and has appeared on shows like BBC 2 's Victoria Derbyshire, BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour, BBC Radio Five Live, BBC Kent, BBC London, and BBC Asian Network.
